About Us

Cranbrook Pride Society is a group of dedicated volunteers that encourage and empower the LGBTQ community in the Kootenays. We create community, through diversity and we pride ourselves in acceptance.

The members of the Cranbrook Pride Society Board wish to thank all our volunteers, vendors, and attendees that made the Weekend of Pride 2016 the success it was. We saw a dramatic increase of youth attendance this year over the last year as well as overall participation and engagement. We want to acknowledge our sponsors who helped to make this all possible: The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), The Columbia Basin Trust, BCGEU Cross Component Committee, and the AIDS Network and Kootenay Outreach Support Society (ANKORS).

The Cranbrook Pride Society has scheduled regular monthly meetings the second tuesday of each month that happen in the ANKORS office at Room 134 - 209A 16th Avenue North, Cranbrook, BC.

The Cranbrook Pride Society also hosts a regular coffee group at Hot Shots Cafe every Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30. This group is run by volunteers who wish to meet new people in the community, expand peer relationships, and strengthen support networks of like minded individuals. The group is open to all; there are games, great conversation, food, and beverages.
