Territorial Acknowledgement

Why Acknowledge?

The Cranbrook Pride Society acknowledges that the land we live, work, and play on has historical relationships that predate our organization’s existence.

Indigenous land acknowledgments recognize the original stewards of the land and the ongoing impacts of colonization. They serve as a reminder of the histories and rights of Indigenous Peoples, fostering awareness, respect, and accountability. By acknowledging the land, we honor Indigenous resilience, encourage deeper relationships, and commit to meaningful actions toward reconciliation and justice.
